The Lagos Smart Meter Hackathon 2020, has been curated with a view to addressing the over 60% metering gap in Lagos and Nigeria, by leveraging local talent to create affordable smart electricity meters for consumers. 

Through the Ministry of Energy & Mineral Resources, the Lagos State Government is partnering with @ekoinnovationcentre to facilitate the design and development of an affordable and smart metering system.

This solution will enhance the supply of constant & stable electricity, improve last-mile electricity supply, prevent revenue leakage, and increase the trust people reposed in the authority.
